Tim Barcode
Tim Barcode is a Timelord so has no meaningful age. He lives in Christchurch and is a writer who does other things to support his habit.
He has written 17 plays, three novels (one of them good!) and a range of short stories.
Tim is a reluctant post modernist, who still believes in things.
His playwriting influences are:
· Dario Fo
· Tom Stoppard
· Government forms and applications
· Robert Lord
· The Mighty Boosh
· Douglas Adams
· Whatever he last saw.
Tim believes theatre must appeal to communicate. It might be fun (or perverse) to write material which is inaccessible, but audiences will learn more from a good tale.
Tim is currently writing three plays
He once put together ‘BOB’, a total conceptual art exhibition in Lichfield Street, with poems and other written explorations, with Lucinda and George. Except they called it RED, and George has gone on to be a famous novelist under her real name.
Oily Rag Theatre has produced:
Shirley Valentine by Willy Russell (Chch), and Gaffe (Circa Wellington and Chch), Café Dement (wgtn and Chch), Potted, The News @ No 6 (Chch), Interviews and Other and Lies (Wgtn) by Tim Barcode.
